Thank you very much for all your generosity during the past three days. The target of £2,000 was reached and surpassed last night and as I write £2,175 has been reached which , with gift aid, is almost £2,600. You can still donate HERE to give even more presents to the kids in special schools and hospices. In this podcast I discuss the damascene conversion of the Mrs on a couple of issues and I say “thank you” to those donating to Woodlarks on the Christmas grotto appeal. We are now almost 75% of the way to target so if you can spare a fiver ( or more) please do so today HERE. Right now there is building work underway at Woodlarks and that means that, for the first time I can remember, there will be no Christmas Grotto this year. However the Woodlarks Santa will be doing a mobile tour of schools with the sort of special needs Woodlarks is set up to deliver and to visit local hospices to see very ill children. “I want your money” as that poltroon Bob Geldof used to say.

I asked you for £3,000 to fund the Woodlarks Christmas Grotto appeal a week ago. Today we have reached our target with gift aid on top. I have asked Darren to close the page when he wakes up in the socialist hell hole that is Canada (no sniggering at the back) so no more money please. I start with macro economics and why I am so bearish on UK PLC. Then to Purplebricks (PURP) and the housebuilders in light of today’s shocking warning from the UK banks on mortgage lending prospects for 2023. Then Parsley Box (MEAL), Vast Resources (VAST) as the trap door approaches and Advanced Oncotherapy (AVO, Odey Asset Management and the FCA. I may be wrong about this but I’d like the FCA to have a butcher’s. Finally a big thank you from me on helping us raise all the money needed for the Woodlarks Christmas Grotto appeal.

I know times are tough. But I am sure that if you are reading this you can afford a tenner or a fiver. And I ask that you hand that over to the amazing folks at Woodlarks as it does its first face to face Santa grottos for 200 kids whose, often short, lives are not like those we enjoy.

Plans are already underway for our main fund raising event for Woodlarks each year, the 33 mile Rogue Bloggers walk in the summer. The fourth walk is going to be on a different, 1 mile longer, route than the first three and takes place on June 13 2020 and I will be badgering everyone I know to ensure that we raised even more than the £50,000 we raised in 2019. But that badgering can wait. For now, Christmas looms…

Once again I ask you for a small Christmas donation for Woodlarks. Every year our hero Nick Richards (below) and a team of volunteers build a special Santa's grotto at the Woodlarks campsite. Last year we had over 200 children from special needs schools and children’s hospices visit the site for a great day out which culminated in each getting a present from Santa. we aim to do the same again (or more) in 2018. But, as you know, Woodlarks has very little cash and this costs about £2,500 to put on. So...
I have told that if needs be I will ask a friend to come out of retirement and rob a bank to ensure Woodlarks has the cash. But it would be better still if, as last year, readers made a small donation. I will keep asking until we hit the target so please help us to get there and donate now HERE
